WHEN THE STORY BEGINS
This is a project that based on a story written by Italian writer Italo Calvino. Armilla is like a forest of pipes: no walls, no floors, and no ceilings. Water and pipes is a very important entertainment in the city. In this project, three of us have formed a group to make this real.
BUNDLING // DISTORTION // NETWORK
With the concept of bundling, distortion and network, we used white straws as the main material of the model. The two rows of water pipe distorted in the middle and formed a city with no walls, no floors and no ceilings. The landscape of the city and density of the water pipes formed a different cityscape. For the connection of pipes, we have tried a lot of connection in this model including extension, tiding, interlock, wire etc.
